Gift of Love International Adoptions, Inc. has been working in
Kazakhstan since 2003 and has been directly registered at the
Kazakhstan Consulate in New York, NY since April 2004.
Children Available
Children
available for adoption range in age from 6 months to school age
at the time of referral. The adoption law of Kazakhstan allows
the adoption of two children at one time only if they are
biologically related, meaning twins or siblings. The majority
of children available are of Kazakh decent and have Eurasian
features. Prospective adoptive parents must be open to
receiving the referral of a child of any ethnic background from
Kazakhstan. Placement of a child of a specific ethnic
background is not guaranteed.
Parental Eligibility Requirements

Married couples and single heterosexual females.

Prospective adoptive parents must be a minimum age of 25
years old; there is currently no upper age limit,
however, Kazakhstan requires that Prospective Adoptive
Parents are no more than 45 years older than your child.

Prospective adoptive parents must be in generally good
health.

Prospective adoptive parents must have a minimum,
combined annual income of $40,000.

Prospective adoptive parents must have a completely
clear criminal record from a local state and federal
criminal report.
Travel
You will
receive an invitation to travel after your completed dossier is
sent through and approved by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA)
and Ministry of Education (MOE). The day after arriving in
Kazakhstan you will go to the regional MOE for your
appointment. Before accepting the referral of your child,
Kazakhstan requires that you visit your child everyday for 15
days as a bonding period. After court there will be an appeal
period of 15 days plus 7 days for document processing. You will
have the option to travel home for this 21 day period, after
which you will travel to Almaty to spend 1-3 days to obtain your
child’s visa and attend your embassy exit interview.
Post-Adoption
· Mandatory
post-adoption reports with a caseworker at 30-days, 6-months,
12-months, 18-months and 24-months home.
· Mandatory
family reports are required for years 3 through the child’s 18th
birthday.
