Gift of Love International Adoptions, Inc. currently schedules a wide variety of events for our families including, cultural events, play groups, family nights, and life books classes.  

Cultural Events

Currently Gift of Love International Adoptions offers a yearly celebration for all of our families for the Chinese New Year.  This event is celebrated for the beginning of the Chinese new year in January or February.  Families gather together to learn about the cultural holiday and celebrate their children's heritage.  All families in all programs and parts of the process are encouraged to attend this event and learn more about their child's or another culture. 

Play Group

Gift of Love is pleased to have facilitated the creation of a Des Moines-area Play Group for families and children in all programs and all stages of the process, prior to and after registration with Gift of Love.  Play group activities are organized through Gift of Love and participating families and typically scheduled once a week.  Currently Minnesota and Wisconsin Play Groups are being created.

Family Night

Gift of Love offers a monthly Family Night for Adults in all programs and all stages of the process, prior to and after registration with Gift of Love.  Family Night activities are organized by participating families and Gift of Love. Potlucks are typically scheduled once a month and a Chinese cooking class is scheduled every other month.

Life Books Class

Gift of Love International Adoptions, Inc. is please to offer a Life Books class for all interested families.  We encourage all families to chronicle their child's life history and encourage everyone to attend our class to learn ways to chronicle your child's life.  Classes are offered on a monthly basis with workshops being held every other month and general scrap booking nights held 6 times a year.
